Tennessee Mountain Wedding: David and Amber's Wedding Day
The sun reflected off of the beautiful lake in front of the venue where Amber and David would later exchange their vows and start the next step in their lives together. Only a few fluffy, white clouds were scattered throughout the blue sky on this incredibly hot, October day. As I walked into the cabin where everyone was getting ready for the day (girls upstairs, boys downstairs), I only heard the laughs and antics of David and the rest of the groomsmen. As I walk down the stairs to congratulate David on the big day, the first thing I hear is, “Did you bring me any movies?!”. I had no idea what I had just walked in to, but I knew it was the start of an incredibly fun day! In case you were wondering, no I didn’t bring David any movies, and he wasn’t satisfied with the black and white films that were at the cabin.
When I walked into the girls room, I was immediately aware of the calmness in the room, which was unlike most wedding days, but oh so perfect. No one felt rushed and no one was nervous. They were all there to have fun, and that is exactly how wedding days are supposed to be!
One of my favorite traditions of wedding days is first looks with dad! I did this for my wedding, and it was one of the most special moments I had during my big day. When Amber told me she wanted to do this, I was so excited! We planned her first look with her dad to be just as climatic as the one with David and it didn’t disappoint!
Once dad had his first look, it was time for the bride and groom to have their special moment. First looks are a little untraditional, but oh so sweet! I love the special moment just between the bride and groom that I am fortunate enough to be able to photograph. One of my favorite moments of Amber and David’s first look was that they took a moment to enjoy the view of their venue, which was breathtaking.
From there, we explored the gorgeous venue in the incredible heat (96 degrees) in October. Before the ceremony started, everyone gathered in the cabin (and AC) to cool off in order to head back outside. Their ceremony was so sweet and was filled with music, faith, and fun moments from the flower girl and ring bearer. Their reception was filled with fun and food, and a surprise cake made just for them and their love for Toy Story.
This wedding was so special and so fun! Amber and David, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your special day and allowing our client/vendor relationship to turn into a friendship! Check out some of my favorite images from their special day!
