Tabitha & Keagen Engagement Session at Hocking Hills State Park in Logan, Ohio
So have you ever tried to coordinate a fall session with two wedding photographers? Yeah, it’s not the easiest thing to do. Tabitha and Keagen live in Indiana, and I live in Tennessee, but we found a beautiful location to meet in the middle on my way back from a wedding in Michigan.
Hocking Hills State Park is tucked away in Logan, Ohio, just south of Columbus, Ohio. It’s a location that you would never believe existed in Ohio, but here it is, a little hidden gem. I grew up taking trips here, so I knew how gorgeous it was, but coming back as an adult and a photographer gave me a whole new appreciation for it.
There are many areas of the park that span a wide area, so we knew we had to find just the right one for this engagement session. We did a lot of research and talked to people who had been, and decided on the Rock House. It is a location that is less busy than some, like Old Man’s Cave, but still a popular location. The path down into the cave is not paved and is more like a hike, so Tabitha switched into tennis shoes, and we headed down into the cave for beautiful photos of the two of them!
As we hiked down to the Rock House, we found gorgeous locations along the way to stop for photos. As we waited for people to pass, we joked and talked about their wedding plans along with how each other’s wedding seasons were going. We joked about how crazy fall was and how we are halfway through October, but how amazing our seasons have been.
The path for the Rock House is a loop, and eventually, we made it to the bottom and then headed back up, again stopping along the way to take in the scenic views that let us forget that we are in Ohio.
