Kim’s Nursing School Graduation Photoshoot at the Mercy College of Ohio

In the middle of a world crisis like this pandemic, the people on the front lines like our health workers are the ones we are extremely grateful for. And as of May, Mercy College of Ohio sends out a new class of nurses ready to extend their services to the public. Among them is Kim Shomo RN BSN. Just like most colleges, the traditional graduation ceremony was no longer an option. So instead, we set up a photoshoot to commemorate this incredible longtime pursuit.

Another Proud Moment for Kim

If Kim seems familiar, that’s probably because she is. Kim was also one of my brides who had a small elopement in Michigan. Despite the almost chaotic state that the world is in right now, Kim manages to smile through it all and celebrate these milestones in her life in the best way possible. I just happen to capture those moments myself.

We took some great shots at her school Mercy College of Ohio, complete with her cap, graduation gown, and nursing student coat, which she would no longer need to wear as a registered nurse. After a couple of photos there, we headed down the street to the Toledo Museum of Art with the beautiful marble stairs and pillars.

Time to Save Lives

Aside from her grad outfits, Kim also had a board that says, "Class of 2020" with her name on the bottom half. At the center was Kim's favorite quote from Grey's Anatomy:

"It's a beautiful day to save lives."

It's these amazing and kind kindred spirits who want to make a difference especially during this time of crisis that make our society a better and safer place. Cheers to Kim and all the wonderful health workers out there!
