Whit & Alexis’s Family Farm Wedding in Indianapolis, Indiana
Getting married on the family property always adds a touch of intimacy, tying the knot in a space that is literally and figuratively close to home. Whit and Alexis did just that, saying their ‘I do’s’ in the family farm in Batesville, Indiana, which is nestled in between Cincinnati, Ohio, and Indianapolis.
Alexis and her bridal party got ready in an Airbnb in the neighboring town while Whit took the boys to a local hotel. Family and friends prepped them for their first looks in Oldenburg, Indiana which was just minutes and winding back roads away from the family farm. We were there to capture the genuine joy of the lovely bride and the dashing groom seeing each other for the first time before they walk down the aisle. Their smiles were bright as day as we continued to take pre-ceremony portraits.
A Whimsical Woodland Wedding Ceremony
We took a hayride out to the back part of the property to where the ceremony was going to be. The ceremony was at a lovely spot under magnificent trees that had enchanting hanging flower arrangements above. Every romantic design and decoration was made by the family themselves.
After the ceremony, cocktail hour was now open at the front of the property. It was complete with a live band for entertainment. The reception was held behind the house in a covered tent. The dance floor on the cement patio covered with wood flooring for guests to dance all night.
