Mackenzie’s College Graduation Photoshoot at The Ohio State University

Graduation is one of the biggest milestones of anybody’s life, celebrating the years of hard work in education. Unfortunately, a lot of students don’t get the opportunity this year to march on stage due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Among them is my sister Mackenzie, who was originally scheduled to graduate from The Ohio State University in May.  Even though she may be a traitor and went to “that school down south”, I am still incredibly proud of her.

But even though she doesn’t get to have the ceremony she deserves, we decided to celebrate anyway and push through with a good photoshoot to commemorate one of her amazing life accomplishments. 

A Cap, A Gown, and Her Best Friends

We decided to take a couple of portrait shots in the place where it all began: The Ohio State University campus. We took snapshots and photos in all her favorite locations on site. From building entrances to campus hangout hotspots, we covered all the good bases. And yes, that includes a visit to the Shoe, Ohio’s grandest football stadium. 

She wore her lovely white dress under her graduation cap and gown to make it official. I even had her throw her cap up in the sky like what most graduates would do at the end of the ceremony. 

Her three best friends Leah, April, and Mary Clare came along for the session to take a couple of group shots around the campus as well.

Onwards and Upwards

Mackenzie and her friends were all smiles despite their situation. They may not have a graduation ceremony, but that won’t stop them from popping a bottle of champagne to celebrate their accomplishments. Cheers to you, ladies!

After college, Mackenzie has already started her graduate school program at Baylor University pursuing speech pathology focusing on traumatic brain injury.
