Tom and Mara’s Downtown Franklin, Tennessee Engagement Session
When Tom and Mara reached out to me about photographing their wedding, I was so excited! Tom and I went to college together, and they were both good friends with my college roommate, Rachael. I had heard so many great things about Mara from Rachael, so I was excited to finally meet her in person.
When we met to discuss everything about their wedding, we all immediately hit it off and had a great time! We spent an hour or more just hanging out at Starbucks, talking about everything under the sun. In that conversation, we were trying to decide on where to do their engagement session. Tom and I both went to O’More College of Design, which is neatly tucked away in downtown Franklin, Tennessee. After bouncing around a few different ideas, we decided that our college campus would be the perfect location.
Before we even arrived to the college, I knew exactly where I wanted to shoot. There were several beautiful locations on our campus that I had always been in love with and wanted to photograph a couple in front of. We started in front of the mansion in front of the beautiful iron door, on the brick path lined by landscaping. Next we went to what used to be our library, but then was turned into the Interior Design building, which is where Tom spent most of his time in college. We finished up the campus by spending time on the back lawn.
Once we finished up on our former college’s campus, we headed to downtown Franklin. The Franklin Theatre is a stunning, old-school theatre that made a perfect backdrop to wrap up their engagement session. The sun peaked out behind the neon sign illuminated outside to create a beautiful frame for the couple.
