Nathan and Emily's Monroe, Michigan Fall Wedding at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church
This wedding is super special to me, and I just had to share it with you all. When my cousin, Emily, asked me to photograph her wedding, I knew it would be special, but I had no idea how special it would be. Throughout the year of planning, I heard little details of what was going to be happening on the big day, but there was so much more on the wedding day that I witnessed that made it extra special.
The day started by the girls getting ready at Biundo’s Salon. This included Emily’s mom, Kim, and all of her great aunt’s from Oregon who were there to support her on her big day. Emily’s grandmother, who she was very close with, passed away a few years earlier, so it was very important that she was part of her big day. Having her sisters fly in from Oregon was the perfect way to have her be part of the day and for her to be remembered. Our great grandmother passed away in 2011, and she was one amazing lady. We honored her by Emily wearing her pearls on her wedding day. If you weren’t part of the family, you probably wouldn’t have caught all of these little details that were so special to all of us, so I absolutely loved being able to capture the day.
Next, we headed to the hotel where the boys were getting ready. We walked into a room full of commotion, which is no surprise. The guys were having fun and finishing up getting ready for the big day. Before long, we were all headed to the church to start the wedding!
St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Monroe, Michigan is an absolutely stunning church. Emily’s grandmother used to be a member there, which was just another nod to her. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and so perfect for them. The pews were full of friends and family celebrating Emily and Nathan’s marriage.
Next, we headed to Monroe County Community College for photos. Both Nathan and Emily graduated from there, so this was the perfect place for portraits! The sun was shining bright on their wedding day, so we found a perfect place underneath a tree to start the portraits. We then headed to a weeping willow tree right on the pond that was stunning and the perfect backdrop.
From there, we headed to the reception at The Knights of Columbus in Monroe, Michigan. This space was absolutely perfect for them and a great place for us to party the night away! The dance floor didn’t stop all night, and was so much fun!
Here are some of my favorite photos from the day!
