Ultimate Guidelines for Your 2021 Wedding Planning

Weddings are important parts of our culture because they bring together couples to start a new life together while still providing legal protection. These ceremonies are often accompanied by receptions and other gatherings attended by friends and family. These activities, however, are especially vulnerable to the spread of COVID-19 because they put families and friends together. The government has been working closely with wedding industry leaders to determine how we can safely enable small wedding and civil partnership celebrations. This guideline for receptions and civil marriage celebrations was created using the best scientific information available, and it will be revised as the situation changes and more research on COVID-19 becomes available.

Even if the situation in 2021 enables certain countries to be free from Covid-19, safeguards should still be taken. Some variables will result in higher or lower levels of risk, so keep important information in mind.

Points to Remember

  • Where at all possible, avoid massive crowds and activities.

  • When determining whether or not to host an event, keep the level of risk in mind.

  • When large events and gatherings are held, promote healthy habits and preserve healthy environments to minimize risk.

  • If anyone becomes ill during or after the event, be prepared.

  • If your event must be held indoors, make sure the space is well-ventilated.

Any action to host an event during the COVID-19 pandemic, large or small, should be focused on risk. As a result, remain aware of the state of the pandemic not just locally but globally.

Here are five guidelines to consider while planning your wedding for 2021.

COVID-19 Updates

Know your state's COVID-19 rules and regulations, and always review local ordinances and procedures for activities before and during your wedding planning. COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions based on venue preference either private property or event venue are visible.  Weddings, elopements, and mini weddings can all take place at any time.

Make Yourself Flexible

CAN I STRIVE TO BE MORE FLEXIBLE? Yes, indeed! You have to be. If required, be prepared to change your plans. You will feel more confident if you build a solid plan that is both realistic and understandable. Creating a communication strategy for your guests will also help to reduce anxiety. Don’t make decisions based on anxiety or emotions. It's important to let your planner discuss options before making a final decision.

Keep in Mind What is Significant

SHOULD THE WEDDING BE POSTPONE? List down all the things that truly matter to you. You will have to postpone your wedding if you want a big party or you may be able to keep your original date if you're willing to curtail. There is no such thing as a bad decision because you must choose what is best for you and your level of safety. Some people will be unable to relax or rejoice and may have to postpone, while others may want the show to go on! I highly encourage every couple not to let this Covid-19 rob them of it. All that matters is that you're getting married. Keep that in mind when you decide what's best for you and your partner.

Guest Comfort

Before the event, inform guests of the safety precautions that will be taken during the event, remind them of these precautions, and ensure that they are observed. Accept the fact that some guests might be hesitant to travel from out of town, continue to keep all of your confirmed guests updated. Your guests' comfort must be a top priority for you as well.

Talk To Your Vendors

Before putting on an event, make sure you're up to date on the rules at your wedding venue and ask about COVID-19 policies from your venue and other vendors. Consult with all of the vendors to find out how they plan to proceed and what their options are if the ordinances change. Certainly, wedding vendors are setting procedures to ensure your safety.

The most important questions you should be asking your wedding planner right now.

  • What choices do we have if we plan to reschedule our wedding?

  • Can you collaborate with our other vendors to help us make a decision?

  • If we need to reschedule, what is your availability in the coming months?

  • What are the financial consequences of delaying or canceling our event?
