A Windy and Wonderful Day in Downtown Toledo

Jake and Kara’s engagement session in Downtown Toledo was a perfect mix of urban grit and natural beauty—just like their love story. We kicked off the shoot across from Middlegrounds Metropark, starting at an old, abandoned warehouse with tons of character. From there, we wandered into the park itself, where the skyline, the MLK bridge, and even a glimpse of their wedding venue, the Renaissance Hotel, created a beautiful backdrop.

It was crazy windy (thank you, Toledo!), but surprisingly warm for a March afternoon. Jake and Kara handled the breeze like pros, laughing, holding each other close, and making the whole session feel relaxed and real. Their chemistry was undeniable—easy, fun, and full of little moments that made my job as their photographer so easy.

A Love Story that Started at 13

Jake and Kara first met working at the local skating rink when they were just 13 years old. Life took them to different schools and different paths, but somehow, it led them back to each other—and now they’re preparing to say "I do" on October 4, 2025, at the Renaissance Hotel Downtown Toledo.

Kara works in accounting for a roofing company and bartends on the side, while Jake is a union crane operator. Together, they have three adorable dogs that keep them busy and fill their lives with joy. Their story is a testament to timing, patience, and finding your way back to the one you’re meant to be with.

Special Moments at Middlegrounds Metropark

One of the sweetest moments during the session was when a man training his puppy approached us, using our little photo gathering as a "teaching moment." It was such a genuine, unscripted interaction—and it fit the vibe of Jake and Kara’s day perfectly: unplanned, joyful, and full of life.

We strolled through the park, chatting about their wedding plans, their life together, and their dreams for the future. Every photo captured that sense of ease and excitement that comes with knowing you’ve found your person.
